This World Refugee Day, let’s remember why refugees are forced to flee their homes. A Refugee’s Journey is a new animated film that illustrates the uncertain journey of a mother and daughter as they must unwillingly leave everything behind and navigate the labyrinthine legal process in order to reunite in safety and security.

About the Video

A Refugee’s Journey is a brief animated film made by the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) in conjunction with Igor + Valentine that illustrates the journey of a mother and daughter as they are forced to leave their home and navigate the legal process to be resettled. With IRAP’s help, they are finally able to reunite in safety.

The film was unveiled on May 7, 2019 for the audience of IRAP Tonight with John Oliver, IRAP’s first benefit, in New York City. In celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20, 2019, IRAP is sharing a brand new social media cut of the film with the world.
