Airport Arrivals

In 2020, IRAP created resources about arriving at U.S. airports because many international travelers have experienced prolonged screenings, discrimination, or attempted deportation.

The most current versions of these resources for travelers are available in multiple languages on IRAP’s legal information website.

If you are arriving in the United States for the first time, including as a refugee, humanitarian parolee, or with a visa, read this to prepare for your trip (also available in: Arabic, FarsiFrenchPashtoSpanish).

If you are a Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holder arriving in the United States for the first time, read this to prepare for your trip (also available in: Dari and Pashto).

This resource is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute attorney-client advice. If you would like legal information about other immigration pathways in multiple languages, or to request help from IRAP, please use IRAP’s Legal Information website.

Please see IRAP’s Legal Practitioner Resources page for newer resources and additional information for legal practitioners.
