IRAP and AIG Receive 2014 CPBO Pro Bono Partner Award

Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO) announced today that it will award IRAP and the American International Group Inc.’s (AIG) Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Government Affairs department (GLCR) with the 2014 CPBO Pro Bono Partner Award for their work with refugees in the Middle East. The award will be presented at the 2014 PBI Annual Dinner on November 6 in New York.

IRAP’s partnership with AIG has generated more than 650 hours of legal assistance to U.S.-affiliated Afghans who are under threat within their home country as a result of their work with the United States. AIG has also supported IRAP in the appeal of an SIV rejection, provided invaluable government relations expertise, and donated funds to facilitate IRAP’s work.

“When we started our pro bono program in 2012, we approached it with the goal of doing good work for those in need in a way that would have a meaningful impact in their lives as well as the lives of our attorneys and staff,” commented AIG Executive Vice President and General Counsel Thomas Russo. “Through our partnership with IRAP, we have been able to do that.”
