IRAP and Marhub Launch ChatBot to Provide Legal Information to Refugees Seeking Assistance

Marhub and the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) are excited to announce the launch of Mona, a chatbot designed to provide legal information in Arabic and English to refugees who are searching for assistance. Mona went live on Facebook Messenger and Telegram on July 24th, 2019, and has capacity to serve refugees with timely and frequently updated information that adapts to their individual needs through an automated process.

Through Mona, refugees receive self-help information but are also screened based on the details that they provide in order to determine when IRAP may be able to assist them with direct legal representation. For the time being, Mona serves primarily Syrians and Iraqis, but will expand to other refugee populations in the future.
