Rolling Stone recently published an article highlighting the struggle against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Baghdad, offering readers a glimpse of what life is currently like on the ground there, as conveyed through the stories of a number of Iraqi individuals. One of the individuals featured, here called Ahmed, is a current IRAP client. Ahmed is a young gay Iraqi man who fears for his life because ISIS specifically targets members of the LGBTI community.
“There’s no life for gays in Iraq,” says Ahmed.
