This recent New York Times article features the story of an Iraqi family, former IRAP clients, who resettled to Maryland a year ago and recently received a threatening note. The family, which experienced abductions and a bombing of their home by militias back in Iraq, now fears a different kind of threat and intimidation.
In response to the note, IRAP’s Policy Director, Betsy Fisher, is quoted saying: “Not only is a note like this horrifying, it should be deeply embarrassing for every American that this family was threatened, because the reason they are in this country is because he was of service to our country.”
