IRAP Submission to the UN on Meaningful Participation of Refugees with Disabilities

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) responded to a call by the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities inviting all stakeholders to provide written submissions regarding interpretation and application of Article 29 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on participation of persons with disabilities in political and public life. In its submission, IRAP elaborates on some of the barriers hindering refugees with disabilities and persons with disabilities in refugee-like situations from meaningfully participating in political and public decisions and processes that affect their lives. The submission also provides concrete recommendations for addressing those barriers to the state parties to the convention.
