Practice Advisory: New Central American Minors (CAM) Program Documents Answer Questions About Processing

Through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and lawsuits, IRAP has obtained new policy documents about the CAM Program that answer key questions about how certain application types are adjudicated. The U.S. government had never publicly answered certain questions about the intersection of CAM processing and a parent’s pending asylum application, the intersection of CAM with other pathways like follow-to-join refugee processing, and the adjudication standard for CAM re-parole applications, which are all addressed in these documents. In the advisory, IRAP explains what the new documents include and what questions they answer.
