The Supervisor Locator– the US Government Aims to Help Iraqis Establish Contact With Former Military and DoD Supervisors

The DoD announces a new tool to help Iraqis who formerly worked for the United States contact their previous military or Defense supervisors. Potential SIV applicants who need to get in touch with previous supervisors for the purpose of writing recommendations can now submit Form DS-158 to the Department of State’s National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will send the form to the “Supervisor Locator” which will reach out to US government agencies including the DoD and Veterans Affairs in an effort to establish contact with former supervisors. The Supervisor Locator has the potential to prove extremely useful to Iraqi refugees, SIV applicants, and their advocates.
