Are you a legal practitioner with clients in the Americas who have questions about refugee resettlement to the United States? Do you want to learn more about the many changing processes and acronyms that U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) applicants encounter, from SMOs to CAM and RSCs to RFRs?
Join IRAP experts for a four-part series designed to provide U.S. legal practitioners with background on USRAP processing in the Americas, using the links below to register:
- Overview of USRAP in the Americas – July 25, 1-2pm ET. Learn the basics of USRAP in the Americas, including access categories, processing steps, agency roles, and challenging denials.
- Private Sponsorship (P-4) and the Americas – August 1, 1-2pm ET. Learn about naming and identification sponsorship and the steps of P-4 access and processing.
- Safe Mobility Offices (SMOs) – August 8, 1-2pm ET. Learn about how SMOs work, what trends IRAP has seen, and information to share with clients.
- Central American Minors (CAM) Refugee and Parole Program – August 15, 1-2pm ET. Learn about the CAM program, the recent expansion of eligibility, and recent trends and issues.
Practitioners will have an opportunity to ask questions through the registration process and there will be a Q&A portion of the webinar. IRAP’s legal publications on USRAP are available for free on our website, including the extensive USRAP Practice Guide for Legal Practitioners, and we recommend using those tools when representing clients in USRAP.
IRAP is planning a modified version of this series in Spanish for refugee-serving organizations in the Americas, and we will share information on our website when available.
