Pedro Sepulveda, Jr.

Pedro Sepulveda, Jr. is a Staff Attorney in IRAP’s Litigation Department. In this role, he works on impact litigation in U.S. courts to advance and defend the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, and other people in need of humanitarian relocation.

During law school, Pedro was a member of the Family Defense Practicum and the CLEAR Clinic, where he addressed the unmet legal needs of Muslim, Arab, South Asian, and other communities across the United States targeted by post-9/11 national security and counter-terrorism policies and practices. Pedro has also worked with the Immigrant Defense Project, the ACLU Trone Center for Justice and Equality, and the Center for Constitutional Rights. Before law school, Pedro was a DOJ Accredited Representative at the New York Legal Assistance Group. He has volunteered with the New Sanctuary Coalition and Mayday Space. In a past life, he engaged in gene therapy research at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Pedro holds a J.D. from CUNY School of Law and a B.A. in Biochemistry and Jewish Studies from Vassar College. He speaks Spanish.

Pedro is a member of the New York bar and is admitted to practice in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Ninth, and D.C. Circuits.
