Solangel Gonzalez

Solangel Gonzalez is a Senior Staff Attorney in IRAP’s U.S. Legal Services Department. In this role, Solangel provides direct legal representation to IRAP clients seeking resettlement and family reunification through a range of immigration processes.

Prior to joining IRAP, Solangel served as a Supervising Immigration Attorney and Immigration & Project END Staff Attorney at Ayuda, an organization providing immigration, family, and consumer legal services, as well as social and language access services, to low-income immigrants in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. At Ayuda, Solangel supervised staff attorneys, paralegals, and interns, while providing direct representation in affirmative and defensive humanitarian and family-based immigration cases. Previously, Solangel was a Staff Attorney in the Detained Children’s Program at CAIR Coalition in D.C.

Solangel holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she participated in the Immigration Clinic for two semesters. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Religious Studies from the University of Miami. Solangel is a native Spanish speaker.

Solangel is a member of the D.C. bar.
