In 2022, IRAP shared its Practice Guide providing an Overview of Marriage in U.S. Immigration Law. The practice guide provided legal background, practical tips, and hypothetical exercises for legal practitioners assisting families in humanitarian and family reunification immigration pathways.
In July 2024, IRAP substantially updated this guide, renaming it the Practice Guide on U.S. Immigration Law and Marriages Abroad to better reflect its scope.
IRAP’s practice guides are intended for legal practitioners–if you would like more general legal information about family reunification processes in multiple languages, please use IRAP’s Legal Information website.
