Mosab Abushama
Mosab Abushama is a Communications and Social Media Specialist at IRAP, supporting communications and digital engagement efforts that amplify refugee voices and advance advocacy initiatives.
Prior to joining IRAP, Mosab worked in Sudan as a multimedia creator and creative director, specializing in visual storytelling, digital media, and creative strategy. He led campaigns and produced multimedia content for commercial and social impact initiatives. During the war in Sudan, he documented daily life, displacement, and community-led relief efforts while supporting grassroots humanitarian responses.
Mosab holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Sudan University of Science and Technology and an M.F.A. in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His work has been recognized internationally, including by World Press Photo, and published by outlets such as The Guardian. He was selected for the AFAC fellowship, in partnership with Magnum Foundation and the Prince Claus Fund, to support his photography and visual storytelling. He speaks Arabic and English.
